A V-brace connection features buckling-restrained braces framing into a gusset plate. The gusset plate is welded with complete-joint-penetration welds and reinforced by full-depth stiffener plates on each side. A horizontal strut intersects the assembly, and the base plate is secured with anchor rods featuring square plates and double nuts. The concrete footing is reinforced with number four ties spaced at four inches center-to-center enclosing the bolts, with the first tie positioned two inches below the top of footing.
