A 600S250-54 slotted slip track connects to the overhead structural beam or concrete slab using two powder-actuated fasteners at sixteen inches on center per structural notes, or two number twelve screws at sixteen inches on center when attaching to a roof deck. Steel studs insert into the slip track with a vertical deflection gap ranging from a one-half inch minimum to a three-quarter inch maximum. Typical jamb connections match the stud requirements at the jamb condition. The assembly accommodates vertical deflection of the overhead structure without transferring dead load to the non-load-bearing wall below.
