A steel bottom chord frames into a structural steel column using a bolted shear plate connection. Standard round holes are provided in the shear plate to receive two bolts fastening the steel bottom chord. The connection occurs symmetrically on both sides of the column and references details 1 and 4 on sheet S5.01 for wide-flange column conditions.
