A hollow structural section column with a size of 5x5x1/4 connects a concrete foundation at the base and a structural beam at the top. The base assembly includes a 1 inch by 1 foot square base plate welded with a quarter-inch typical fillet weld, anchored by four 1-inch diameter threaded rods with 1/2-inch by 4-inch washers and double nuts embedded in the concrete. The top assembly features a 1/2-inch plate with beam width by 1-foot-0-inch dimensions, secured with four 3/4-inch bolts on beam gauge. Plan views for both the cap plate and base plate detail the bolt patterns and centering on the column centerline.
