A structural steel beam connection features a 3/8-inch by 4-inch plate welded to the steel beam with 1/4-inch typical fillet welds. An additional 3/8-inch stiffener plate is welded to the web with 1/4-inch welds. A shear connection per detail 1 on sheet S5.01 connects the framing member using four bolts.
