The concrete slab on grade rests directly on a compacted crushed gravel capillary break, which functions as a moisture barrier per geotechnical requirements with a minimum thickness of 150 millimeters or six inches over prepared subgrade. Slab thickness and reinforcing are sized per structural plans. A vapor retarder membrane is positioned beneath the concrete pour.
