A structural steel gusset plate and base plate anchor a buckling-restrained brace to a concrete shear wall and slab pocket. A one-inch non-shrink grout layer sits beneath the base plate, with additional non-shrink grout filling the ten-inch maximum concrete pocket. A series of anchor bolts extend downward with a twenty-five inch minimum dimension. Slab top reinforcing requires standard hooks at the pocket, supplemented by twelve total number eight bars spanning twenty feet in each way centered on the base plate per sheet 20/S4.01. Lap splices follow sheet S3.22 with two-inch clearance. Welds are executed per the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer specifications.
