A structural steel braced frame connection details the intersection of diagonal braces and floor beams framing into a steel column with its web parallel to the connection plane. The column receives three-quarter-inch thick stiffener plates in four typical locations welded with complete joint penetration welds. Beams attach to the column via backing plates measuring three-eighths by four by one foot four inches with two three-quarter-inch diameter erection bolts, supplemented by channel sections measuring ten by twenty-five by one foot zero inches secured with two three-quarter-inch diameter erection bolts. Diagonal braces connect using complete joint penetration welds on three sides with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. Concrete over metal deck is positioned per plan adjacent to the structural steel framing.
