The construction joint is placed within the middle one-third of the slab span, separating the first pour and second pour with a maximum spacing offset of s over two. A keyway measuring one foot long is centered at twenty-four inches on center along the joint face, and the entire surface is sandblasted. All reinforcing steel continues through the joint, and where continuous top bars are absent, number four bars at twenty-four inches spacing are provided at both top and bottom with a length of six feet. The joint incorporates a one and one-half inch offset and a depth of t over three.
