A concrete pit is framed within a concrete slab, topped with a grating set into a structural angle or recess. The pit walls are constructed with eight-inch concrete and reinforced with number four bars at twelve inches on center each way, centered in the wall. Continuous number four rebar runs horizontally around the perimeter. The pit base and wall thickness measure eight inches, with a maximum depth of four feet unless otherwise noted. Slab thickness and reinforcement are sized per plan.
