A wood nailer matching the beam flange width is secured to a structural steel beam with seven-eighths-inch diameter welded threaded rods at sixteen inches on center staggered on the beam. The rods feature a maximum three-quarter-inch countersink. One rod is placed a maximum of nine inches from each end of the nailer and from each splice. Two rows of nailing are specified at beam spacing, with four lines where beam nailing is staggered and six lines where three lines of nailing are required.
