A tapered steel beam features a flange cut flush at the web and welded to the remaining web with a one-quarter inch fillet weld at six inch intervals. A full-height beam web stiffener plate is positioned at the start of the beam taper. Additional weld callouts specify one-quarter inch fillet welds at three to six inch spacings along the tapered flange transition.
