A six-inch diameter extra extra strong steel pipe column forms the davit pedestal, capped with a three-quarter by twelve by twelve-inch plate and welded with an eleven-sixteenths inch fillet weld. The column connects to a supporting steel beam using a half-inch plate welded with an eleven-sixteenths inch fillet weld and three seven-eighths inch high-strength bolts. A brace beam frames into another structural steel member using a bolted connection with two-inch spacing and shear tabs per the connection schedule. Plan A-A details the top and bottom flange weld configurations at five-sixteenths and one-quarter inch sizes. All exposed steel pieces are specified to be hot-dip galvanized.
