A buckling restrained brace connects to the underside of a steel beam through an A572 Grade 50 gusset plate. The connection includes a stiffener plate or full depth shear plate at the perpendicular beam, with working point dimensions and weld callouts specified. The steel beam features a bolted steel beam connection at its end, located three to five inches from the gusset plate interface. The brace alignment is centered on the brace work point matching the grid location.
