An HSS6x6 tie beam connects horizontally to an HSS column post using an HSS8x6x3/8 horizontal stub with a three-inch slotted hole and a one-inch maximum gap, secured by two seven-eighth-inch diameter ASTM A325N through bolts. Angle clips measuring L8x6x3/8 by zero foot six inches long are placed on each side with six-inch slotted holes at the leg in contact with the beam flange. Four seven-eighth-inch diameter ASTM A325N bolts fasten the kicker at the centerline of the HSS per detail six on sheet S5-202. The beam connects to a concrete metal deck slab above.
