A precast concrete column is embedded within a concrete shearwall, with typical wall reinforcement continuing through the column using mechanical couplers. The wall thickness and column size are sized per plan and elevation drawings. Typical shearwall reinforcement is set in formsavers within the precast column to maintain structural continuity across the joint. The precast column itself is provided by others.
