An existing hollow structural section column bears on a new three-quarter-inch by twelve-inch square base plate welded with a quarter-inch fillet weld on three sides. The base plate is secured to a concrete pilaster using four three-quarter-inch-diameter heavy hex head anchor bolts with a nut above the plate. Each anchor bolt features a three-eighths-inch by two-inch square plate embedded in the concrete pilaster, which ties into an existing concrete wall.
