This assembly features a joist girder supported by a column topped with a 3/4-inch cap plate. The girder is secured to the cap plate using four 3/4-inch diameter A325 bolts, with bolt locations requiring coordination between the joist manufacturer and the steel fabricator. Stabilizer plates are provided for lateral bracing, with 3/8-inch by 6-inch by 6-inch plates used for K-series joists and 3/4-inch by 6-inch by 6-inch plates for LH-series joists, each featuring a 13/16-inch diameter hole. An additional 3/4-inch by 8-inch by 10-inch stabilizer plate is specified for the joist girder. The joists must remain unwelded to the stabilizer plates, and all connections must comply with Steel Joist Institute and OSHA requirements, utilizing 3/16-inch typical fillet welds and 1/4-inch welds as specified.
