This structural steel column base plate connection utilizes a thick steel base plate anchored with six one-and-a-half-inch diameter Type VII ASTM F1554 Grade 105 anchor bolts. The base plate features six two-and-three-eighths-inch diameter anchor bolt holes and a one-inch diameter grout hole positioned near the column flange. A two-inch by six-inch by one-foot-eight-inch shear lug plate is welded to the underside of the base plate with three-eighths-inch fillet welds. A vertical brace connection plate frames into the column web, secured with three-eighths-inch fillet welds indicated as seismic force-resisting system designated connections. Additional reinforcing steel is provided per drawing S-603.
