A cast-in-place concrete stair on grade bears against a building wall or cheek wall. The stair assembly features number 3 reinforcing bars at twelve inches on center at each stair and number 4 bottom reinforcing bars at sixteen inches on center. Number 3 nosing bars are placed at each tread with a six-inch minimum class A lap splice. Two number 4 bottom reinforcing bars run continuously with a twelve-inch minimum depth at the base footing. A continuous three-quarter-inch by five-inch keyway and number 4 dowels at twelve inches on center with standard hooks tie the stair slab into the adjacent building wall or cheek wall.
