A buckling restrained brace terminates at a wide-flange column base plate assembly using a gusset plate welded to the column and base plate. Stiffener plates are provided inside the wide-flange column as required for load transfer. An isolation joint is detailed between the gusset plate and the surrounding concrete floor slab, incorporating a one-inch by one-inch snip on the plate corner. The base plate rests at the column bearing elevation above the finished floor elevation, with anchor details referenced on separate sheets.
