A wide flange beam serves as the primary support, aligned with the centerline and building grid. A continuous one-half-inch typical bent plate acts as a filler piece atop the beam flange, with the contractor having the option to use either a bent plate or cut tube steel. A continuous one-quarter-inch bent plate wraps the edge, welded with quarter-inch fillet welds spaced at twelve inches. The metal deck bears across the top assembly, with deck span orientations varying per plan.
