A new proposed air conditioning unit sits on a metal equipment curb provided by others, which is anchored to a wood leveling platform with three 3/8-inch diameter by 5-inch lag screws on each side of the curb for a total of eight. The platform is framed with 2x6 No. 1 wood members supported in Simpson joist hangers and sized per schedule. The platform surface consists of 3/4-inch CDX plywood sheathing fastened with 10d screw shank nails spaced at 4 inches on center at edges and 12 inches on center intermediately, with no edge blocking required. The assembly bears over roof sheathing and features a cant strip at the transition, maintaining a 1-3/4 inch minimum edge distance.
