This structural steel connection joins a hollow structural section member to the web of a wide flange beam. The connection utilizes a three-eighths-inch plate welded to the hollow structural section with a three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld, installed with shims as required for proper fit-up. Four seven-eighths-inch diameter Grade A325 bolts tightened to a snug-tight condition secure the plate to the wide flange beam web.
