Concrete beam intersections and corners are reinforced with continuous top and bottom steel bars hooked at ninety degrees and tied with number five dowels as shown. Beam bars extend one foot six inches minimum into the intersection with optional corner dowel omission permitting bent beam bars. Typical spacing requires a one foot six inch extension for lap and development length.
