The construction joint between a first and second pour must be located within the middle one-third of the span. All primary reinforcing steel continues uninterrupted across the joint interface with supplemental diagonal ties spaced at three inches on center near the connection. Additional tie requirements scale with member width ranging from one number six bar each way for members up to seven inches wide up to six number six bars each way for members wider than forty inches. A keyway profile is formed at the midpoint of the beam depth with a standard one and one-half inch offset.
