A heavy steel beam frames into a supporting structural member using a bolted flange plate connection stiffened with welded plates. The connection utilizes ten one-and-one-quarter-inch A490 bolts spaced at three inches on center through PL2x16 plates and a PL1x16x3'-0 7/8" plate. One-half-inch and one-inch fillet welds secure the stiffener plates at the near and far sides typical at the connection. Fillet welds are detailed with surface finish markings on the structural steel assembly.
