A structural steel connection joins a steel truss top chord and a steel beam supporting a concrete slab on metal deck. The steel beam frames into a column using a one-half-inch plate connected by three one-and-one-eighth-inch diameter A325N bolts, with a three-quarter-inch plate and continuous three-by-two-and-a-half-by-three-eighths-inch angle. Section A-A shows a steel beam stiffener plate set flush with the column flange, welded with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds typically. Continuous number four reinforcing bars and number four bars spaced at twelve inches on center are embedded in the slab stepping over the deck profile with a one-half-inch typical clearance.
