An elevator rail support assembly attaches to structural steel framing and concrete over metal deck floor slabs using continuous hollow structural section columns. A horizontal support connection utilizes an L 6x4x5/16x1'-6" angle on each side of the hollow structural section, secured with three-quarter-inch diameter through-bolts in three-and-a-half-inch long vertical slotted holes required at each floor. A vertical support connection utilizes an L 4x4x1/4x1'-6" max angle on each side of the hollow structural section, secured with three-quarter-inch diameter through-bolts in standard holes required at every other floor minimum. A 2-foot-0-inch long L 6x4x1/4 kicker angle is anchored into low deck flutes with two three-quarter-inch diameter expansion anchors, and fitted between brackets with two three-quarter-inch diameter bolts at each end with a 4-inch leg cope. Full-depth one-quarter-inch stiffener plates are welded to the beam on three sides, with one-quarter-inch stiffener plates aligned with the L 6x4 angle typically.
