A pipe or conduit passes through a concrete slab-on-grade supported by firm undisturbed soil or compacted fill. The slab features a thickened edge detail spanning twelve inches minimum horizontally and dropping six inches minimum below the standard slab thickness, with six inches of clearance to subgrade. Typical slab reinforcing is placed per plan, maintaining a two-inch clearance above the thickened section.
