A continuous glass guardrail base shoe sits atop a continuous MC6x16.3 steel channel, which is welded with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds at twelve inches on center to a continuous three-quarter-inch steel plate. The steel plate assembly bears on a mass timber floor system consisting of cross-laminated timber panels supported by glulam framing. The assembly is secured using SDS25300 structural screws at six inches on center into the cross-laminated timber and SDS25800 structural screws at six inches on center into the glulam beam. The glulam framing is positioned per plan below the Level 2 top of finished floor.
