A recess slot for a gate is formed within a concrete slab adjacent to a six-inch pour-in-place concrete wall. The assembly features a two-foot maximum width variable slab opening adjacent to a screen wall or building wall as verified with the architect. Reinforcement includes number four dowels placed at twenty-four inches on center, three number four continuous bars, and number four dowels at twelve inches on center each way within the wall. An eight-inch footing portion extends below the wall with three number five continuous reinforcing bars.
