An HSS18x6 structural steel beam frames into a W18 wide-flange girder using top and bottom angle clips. The top connection utilizes an L8x4x1/2 angle, 1'-6" long with long legs horizontal, welded to the web of the W18 girder and the top of the HSS member. The bottom connection utilizes an L6x4x3/8 angle, 2'-0" long with long legs horizontal, welded to the HSS member below. Three-sixteenths inch fillet welds secure the angles and 1/4" thick plate stiffeners spaced at 6'-0" on center along the girder web and support locations.
