A full-width metal deck sheet joins a cut deck sheet over the top flange of a structural steel member with a minimum one and one-quarter inch bearing lap. Plug welds secure the overlapping sheet edges to the supporting flange below. Minimum one and one-quarter inch dimensions govern the lap and edge clearances.
