This structural connection detail shows a bolted plate assembly connecting to a steel column or wall. The plate length is determined by the number of stud rows with a one-foot minimum. Edge distances measure one and a half inches typically, with a four-inch on-center spacing between bolt rows. A five-sixteenths fillet weld joins the assembly with seven-eighths return welds at the top and bottom.
