An 800T200-54 track or 800S162-54 stud spans horizontally between vertical cold-formed steel studs to serve as a wall backing plate. The horizontal backing member is notched at its flanges to fit directly against each vertical stud. Five number twelve self-tapping sheet metal screws fasten each notched flange to each vertical stud. This Type 2 connection is rated for a maximum load of two hundred pounds per linear foot.
