Small openings cut through metal deck webs are reinforced with typically sized L1-3/4x1-3/4x1/4 structural steel angles placed on either side of the penetration. The reinforcing angles extend three webs past the opening in typical applications. A one-eighth inch fillet weld secures the angle adjacent to the cut web as indicated by welding symbols. Additional dimensions designate spacing and clearances relative to the opening diameter.
