A new angle brace sized as L3x3x1/4 connects between an existing wide-flange beam and an existing open web joist below a concrete over metal deck roof. Connection plates three-eighths of an inch thick are welded typically to the structural members with field welds indicated by flag symbols. The assembly includes fillet welds sized at three-sixteenths of an inch and one-quarter of an inch typically. Roof deck is provided only at similar conditions as referenced on plan.
