A heavy bracing connection features double channels and a diagonal channel member framing into a hollow structural section column sized per plan. The connection utilizes five-eighths-inch thick plates placed on either side of the double channels, secured with seven-eighths-inch diameter A490X through-bolts spaced at standard intervals. A one-inch thick doubler plate is welded to the column with complete joint penetration welds. Additional fillet welds connect the gusset plates and channel members. All edge distances, bolt spacings, and minimum clearances are explicitly dimensioned for fabrication.
