An HSS post supports a beam per plan with a one-inch gap maintained between structural elements. Connection angles including an L3 1/2x3 1/2x5/16-inch angle on each side with a three-quarter-inch through-bolt secure the top flange, while an L6x3 1/2x5/16-inch angle with a two-inch vertical slotted hole on each side secures the bottom flange. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch size are applied with a four-inch minimum length typical. An elevation rail support is provided by others within the HSS post.
