A three-quarter-inch plywood landing is supported by landing joists sized per the stair plan and framed with two-by blocking. Three ten-penny nails attach each joist to the stud with edge nailing at the blocking. A continuous two-by-eight member fastens to the studs using three ten-penny nails per stud. Additional three-x blocking is installed between each stud and joist, secured with structural fasteners. The supporting railing wall consists of two-by-six studs at sixteen inches on center and is sheathed with three-eighth-inch APA-rated sheathing attached with eight-penny nails at four, six, and twelve inches on center.
