Metal deck terminates and transitions across structural supports with specific bearing and welding requirements. For deck offsets, a sixteen-gauge continuous weld plate ties into the parallel member, and ribs are cut out with split deck where concrete fill occurs alongside shear studs. For deck direction changes, a sixteen-gauge by two-inch closure plate secures with a five-eighths-inch puddle weld at each low corrugation. Minimum bearing clearances are maintained at two inches for floors and one and one-half inches for roofs. Deck welding follows the structural plan notes.
