A concrete housekeeping pad is cast atop a concrete slab with a four-inch minimum thickness and a four-inch minimum to six-inch maximum height. The pad is reinforced with number four bars spaced at twelve inches on center each way. Perimeter dowels consist of number three bars at twelve inches on center with standard hooks and a two-thirds embedment depth with a three-inch minimum. Installers can choose between cast-in standard hooks at the bottom of the slab with minimum clear cover or post-installed drilled and epoxy-anchored dowels. An optional construction joint is placed at the slab interface, and all exposed edges feature a three-quarter-inch chamfer unless noted otherwise.
