A concrete floor slab is supported by steel decking running perpendicular to wide flange steel beams. The assembly features welded shear studs along the top flange of the beams and continuous reinforcing bars tied to support welded wire fabric or rebar. Additional number three reinforcing bars at six feet zero inches long are spaced at twelve inches on center at cantilever conditions and at W24 and deeper beams. A fourteen gauge continuous bent plate serves as an edge form with a half-inch return at the top and two number four continuous bars at the cantilever. Clearances include one inch to the welded wire fabric and three-quarters of an inch to the rebar, with a minimum two-inch bearing on the supporting beams and a two-foot maximum typical cantilever.
