A corner connection between precast concrete wall panels features embedded steel plates and welded tie assemblies. A one-half-inch by eight-inch by one-foot-four-inch steel plate embeds into the concrete panel and anchors with three number-six reinforcing bars at six inches on center. A connecting plate measuring three-fourths-inch by two and one-half inches by one foot one inch ties the panels together with field welds. Welds are specified with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld at twelve inches spacing and a three-eighths-inch typical fillet weld. The joint void is packed with grout after welding is completed, and welded wire reinforcement is provided within the panel assembly.
