A structural steel column baseplate is anchored to a concrete shear wall and slab using nine 2 1/2-inch diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 105 anchor bolts equipped with plate washers and double nuts. The baseplate bears on a 1-inch thick layer of non-shrink grout set within a concrete pocket a maximum of 10 inches deep. Additional reinforcing steel includes twelve total number 8 bars by 20 feet long each way, centered on the baseplate with standard hooks at the pocket edges and lap splices as detailed per plan. The surrounding slab top reinforcing is detailed with standard hooks at the pocket and non-shrink grout fills the slab pocket typically.
