Precast concrete wall panels meet at a 90-degree corner with embedded steel plates anchored by reinforcing bars. A 1/2-inch by 8-inch by 1-foot 4-inch plate is anchored with three number six bars three feet long spaced at six inches on center. A smaller 1/2-inch by 5-inch by 1-foot 4-inch plate with three number six bars spaced at six inches is positioned at the corner joint. A 3/4-inch by 2 1/2-inch by 1-foot 1-inch plate bridges the connection with 3/8-inch typical field welds. Welds connect the embedded plates and structural elements with 1/4-inch welds spaced at 12 inches. Welded areas are grouted after welding is completed, and welded wire fabric of 4x4-W2.1xW2.1 size reinforces the assembly alongside number five rebar.
