A buckling-restrained brace (BRB) connects to a steel column and roof beam assembly with a gusset plate welded at the frame intersection. The gusset plate is slotted to receive the buckling-restrained brace, with typical stiffener plates provided on the near side and far side as required by the manufacturer. Additional stiffener plates are located on the steel column flanges as required, and connection plates are welded at the beam flanges. A defined work point establishes the intersecting axes of the structural members at the column and beam junction.
