Boundary element anchorage at a mat footing features an eight-inch tall by two-foot eight-inch wide concrete pedestal set upon the footing. The assembly incorporates six number six bars equally spaced across the pedestal, with number five bars at eight inches on center extending eight inches beyond the end of the boundary element. Transverse reinforcement extends to hooked ends with three-inch clearance at the footing base and two-inch clearance at the pedestal top. Hoops and ties are spaced at four inches on center within the lower transition zone and five inches on center below. A lap splice length for the smaller bar is specified per drawing S0.3 over a one-foot width.
