A hollow structural section collector is suspended beneath an existing concrete slab utilizing a continuous plate sized three-sixteenths by fourteen inches placed between existing steel beams. Half-inch diameter expansion anchors are embedded three inches minimum at six inches on center on each side of the hollow structural section. Additional plates sized one-quarter by three by twelve inches are spaced at twenty-four inches on each side of the hollow structural section. The connection features a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld at four inches on eight inches spacing.
